The Millennium was celebrated in Majuro, Marshall Islands on December 31, 1999 to January 1, 2000 with a massive block party attended by several thousand people of many nationalities. Streets were closed off in the downtown area to make a pedestrian walkway and booths were set up to sell food, games and beverages. Three stages were arranged to feature the best bands in the Marshall Islands. The night was clear, the crowd happy, and in true Marshallese fashion, everyone had a great time.
